Open Mic & Official Opening, @ Rivo Lounge 10am-12pm

Start the weekend on Saturday morning with an eclectic mix of music from local musicians and singers with a chance to perform yourself! Everyone welcome and bring your friends or family to watch you perform or relax and listen to others.

How to drill a Borehole @ the Cause, 2.30pm

Kevin Kola Nyamwaya leads the on-the-ground drilling team for the implementation of WellBoring's wells in Kisumu in Western Kenya. This is a unique opportunity to hear what it takes to drill a well and provide clean water.

Cool Songs & Jazz, @ the Cause, 3pm-5pm

Maiden Voyage is an excellent quartet performing Jazz standards and classic pop ranging from Gershwin to Carol King

Talented song writer and pianist Will Lawton will feature songs from his latest album and other studio albums www.willlawtonmusic.co.uk 

Pop in and relax in the afternoon with drinks and cakes being served

World Music with Lingmara @ the Cause, 7pm-9pm

Community Choir Lingmara performs a wide range of songs from around the World. They practice every Tuesday at the Cause from 7.15pm. Their aim is to have fun and create an open and encouraging place for everyone to share in the pleasure of singing in a choir. Over the last 2 years Lingmara has been invited to sing on a choir exchange in Lithuania and Germany. During the interval there is an opportunity to meet the choir and their musical director Tony Barby.

Pop/Rock Fork Lift Truck, @ the Old Road Tavern, 8pm-11pm

Fork Lift Truck will be playing covers interpreted with a banjo and violin in the Taverns barn. Other bands have been invited to play with a mixture of Pop and Rock.

70’s Disco @ the Cause

Boogie on down, for some retro dance music. Opportunity to dress in 1970’s style - Saturday Night Fever (Flower Power was still in Chippenham!) entry by pre-booking only info@thecausevenue.com or 01249 446893 as numbers are limited

Open Mic, @ Rivo Lounge, 10am-12pm

A chance to listen to live music over a coffee or Sunday brunch and musicians and singers are encouraged to join us and book a slot to perform 

Open Poetry, @ the Cause, 1-2pm

Andy Fawthrop will compere this open session and welcome other Poets to recite their own poetry. Andy will also perform several of his own comic verses and published works which include Mustn’t Grumble and Fair to Middling

 Blues Club @ the Cause, 3pm-5pm 

The atmosphere of the Blues Club will be created in the Hall of the Cause with musical different line ups including slide guitar, piano, bass, drums, harmonica and singers. An afternoon of blues with great musicians and other performers are encouraged to make contact if they want to be included in the session (Fred 01249 446893)  Drinks and cakes will be available.

Folk Club @ the Cause, 5pm-6pm

Pop in to experience Final Draught  plus guests bringing a new take to many traditional songs with a ‘rootsy’ acoustic sound and fine singing and playing of a range of instruments.

A full bar is available.

Tall Stories @ the Cause, 6pm-7pm

Why not sit down and make yourselves comfortable as Julie and Ash entertain you with four diverting stories. They will make you smile, make you think and maybe even cause you to shed a tear, but will leave you with a warm little glow of happiness.

Wading not Drowning - An anniversary surprise reveals the hidden depths that lurk below the surface of a marriage.

Thyme and Plaice - Norma hates cooking, but she loves Neville, even if he does think he’s Philip Marlowe...and lives in Chicago...in the 30’s...,which he doesn’t.

Two for Joy - Richard wants to take his wife on one last amazing trip. He also wants to make a pot of tea, but it’s just not his day.

What Goes Up - There’s only so far you can push a woman who owns a sewing box and isn’t afraid to use it.

Taize Singing @  St Andrews Church, 6pm-7pm

The Taizé community is an ecumenical monastic order with a strong devotion to peace and justice through prayer and meditation.  The singing of distinctive and much-repeated prayer chants during candlelit prayer services is one of its trademarks. Taizé music highlights simple phrases, usually lines from the Psalms or other pieces of scripture, repeated or sung in canon. Everyone can join in and the repetition is designed to help meditation and prayer

Cause Choir Workshop @ the Cause 7pm-9pm

Join the Cause Chorus at their weekly practice and pop in to watch or join in and give it a go! Cause Chorus has performed songs ranging from Adiemus to roots and world music and often accompany themselves with a double bass and percussion and occasionally dance!

Emerging Talent @ the Old Road Tavern

Up and coming local bands will be showcasing their talent. Including Steve Jones and the band Red Ross plus others in support.
