Completed projects / Breakthrough at Kowalla School

Completed March 2016

Not every project goes smoothly. Kowalla School was one of the hard ones. In the course of drilling two holes the team lost lost 20 drilling stems and 2 drilling bits, and had to start again.

But it was third time lucky at Kowalla, and at long last we can celebrate the new borehole for the school and the community. And the community supported the borehole by providing labour and materials.

Now it won't take a couple of hours to get water, which was anyway only available during and following the rainy seasons, when the Mirui stream flows. And rivers can literally dry out.

No longer will scores of children get ill every month. Where there's a will, there's a well.
